Office-Right
Organizing Services has been helping
clients get organized for over 10 years. Preparing for a move is definitely
an organizing project!
It's
Your Move
can help you:
- Identify all locations
where items to be moved are currently located, e.g., garage/basement,
storage area(s) in various locations;
- Identify all locations
where items will be moved;
- Identify items
to be relocated and items to be sold/donated/scrapped;
- Identify items
which require "Special Handling," e.g., fragile artwork, heavy furniture,
computer equipment;
- Review access at
both old and new locations, e.g., elevators, stairs, corridors, doorways,
driveways, parking restrictions;
- Determine what
organizing or de-cluttering is required prior to the pack/move;
- Determine what
professional services will be required, e.g., packing, moving, cleaning,
decorating;
- Establish dates/time-line,
e.g., when packing should be done, arrange for haulers, moving sale,
final clean out of items from old place;
- Determine turn-off/turn-on
dates for utilities, the logical time-line for getting utilities such
as cable TV, modem, etc., in at new place before the move date;
- Change of address--clients,
vendors, friends, subscriptions. Tasks may involve mailing standard
letter to notify them of your change of address and effective dates,
reviewing your printed materials that have addresses, phone numbers,
etc.;
- Identify any constraints
on day of move, e.g., do you need to have contact between old and new
sites, ensure phone lines are all connected, etc.;
- And any other tasks
that we identify along the way.
